Where the hinge part is underneath, you can unscrew the whole plastic arm rest off its metal support where it slides forward and back, if that makes sense, you should be left with the metal frame when the plastic rest comes away. It was a while ago when I did it though, remember it being a touch fiddly. andip85 said: What did you have to unscrew? Hi all, I need to remove my front interior light from my 2007 Mk2 Focus, I have removed the plastic light cover , and inside is a metal tang that apparently needs to be pushed or pulled in a certain direction to allow the fitting to be removed. I have tried moving the metal tang forewards and bac Unplugged the cable loom from the old unit. Checked the units were same size and the plugs were the same. Attached the new unit and tested the lights, dimmer and levellers. Pushed the new unit into place (takes a bit of a push). Relocated the ODB port into the trim and refitted to dash. I sealed the lights, tailgate hinges, and under the ends of the plastic roof strips. Most of my leak was through the rear light fixing screws. But I found earlier this year that I still had a small leak after continuous rain, so I removed the rear spoiler and sealed around all of the holes where the bolts go through. The plastic insert around your door handle is just held onto the rest of the panel with clips. You can pull it off, and easily around the door handle, by tugging it straight off the panel. Makes taking the whole panel off and replacing it WAY easier, with less chance of messing up your handle. This is achieved by inserting the screwdriver *at an angle* thus: It takes a little practice, but with a little care it can be done quickly. Once the assembly has been released, twist the bulb holder to remove it from the lens assembly and replace the bulb. Put it all back together and clip back in place. You can as mentioned remove the bulbs, but there is also a wire that detects when the door is open. I used to have a thread saved for it, wasn't on this forum unfortunately.
